Fiftieth Anniversary of Apollo 8 at the Moon

Christmas Eve 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of Apollo 8—humankind’s first visit to a celestial body. It is also the 50th anniversary of Apollo 8’s Christmas Eve broadcast from the moon, watched by over one billion people.  NASA remembers Apollo 8 here. Their mission also confirmed, in the words of Jim Lovell, “Roger, please be informed there is a Santa Claus.”
